| Our client presented us with a beautiful 10 acre property in the Hudson River town of
Garrison NY. The program outlined a modest retreat home designed in the
local architectural vernacular of the rural residential farming
community. The
design challenge was to marry a traditional style with a contemporary
use. We used basic geometric plan forms; circles, squares, and
rectangles to establish the desired open plan with a dynamic spatial
interaction while creating an exterior that is respectful of the local
architecture. The result is a harmonious combination of site, program,
and sensitive architectural design. |
